Biometrics Institute to hold first member meeting in Washington DC

Biometrics Institute  has announced it will host its first member meeting in Washington DC at the Embassy of Australia.on September 23, 2014 from 1:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The member meeting follows the recent success of the Biometrics Institute Asia Pacific Conference, as previously reported by BiometricUpdate.com, where a panel discussed the growing trend of biometric payments.

The organization has already confirmed several keynote speakers for the meeting, including Jim Loudermilk, director of Biometrics Institute, and senior level technologist of the FBI’s science and technology branch; Isabelle Moeller, chief executive of Biometrics Institute; and Patrick Grother, biometric standards and testing lead at the National Institute of Standards & Technology.

There will be two main topics addressed at the meeting, including “Face Recognition: Performance, Progress and Possibilities” and an “Update from the Biometrics Institute Industry Survey”.

As previously reported by BiometricUpdate.com, the Biometrics Institute Industry Survey was launched in April and asked members and stakeholders to share their thoughts on the current status and expected future development of the biometrics industry.

In addition, Biometrics Institute is calling on anyone who is interested in nominating a speaker to email isabelle@biometricsinstitute.org. All those Biometrics Institute members who are interested in attending can register, free of charge, on the Biometrics Institute website.

The invitation is also extended to non-members, upon request, but is subject to availability.
